Editorial

Editorial

A book outlasts the occasion that produced it — the exhibition closes, the programme ends, the collection moves; the publication keeps arguing. This practice treats publishing as a discipline in its own right, not the appendix of an exhibition: collection catalogues, monographs, artists’ books, and corporate cultural publications, commissioned and produced for collectors, institutions, and corporations. Editorial authorship and production management are held in one practice — from thesis and commissioned texts to scholarly apparatus, design, and the printed object.

Areas of Practice

Monographs, Catalogues & Artists’ Books

Exhibition catalogues, artist monographs, and editioned artists’ books — conceived as objects and arguments in their own right, from concept and structure to format, materials, and edition.

Collection Catalogues

Comprehensive inventories, selected highlights, or thematic surveys, with artist entries, provenance records, and condition documentation.

Corporate Publications

Corporate collection catalogues, annual cultural reports, cultural strategy documents, and content for websites and CSR publications.

Writing & Commissioning

Writing catalogue essays, critical texts, and curatorial introductions, and commissioning and editing contributions from artists, critics, and scholars.

Apparatus & Positioning

Scholarly apparatus, from footnotes to catalogue raisonné structure; the positioning of a publication according to the client’s objectives; and co-publication with museums and academic presses that places a collection within art-historical discourse.

Production & Distribution

Briefing designers, photographers, and printers to print-ready files; image rights and permissions; and publisher relationships and digital editions.
